On Paper. Not a Handshake.
Every waterproofing system, foundation repair, and crack injection we install comes with a written warranty. Lifetime on interior systems. 25 years on exterior. 25 years on crack injection. In writing. From the company that did the work.
Our Promise in Writing
A Warranty That Means Something
"We warranty systems we engineered, with materials we specified, installed by crews we trained. We know what they can do — because we made them."
Most waterproofing warranties in the industry are paper-thin: short coverage windows, vague language, and "manufacturer warranties" that fall apart when the installing company goes out of business or refuses to honor them.
Our warranty is different because we don't resell other companies' products. We engineered the Shield Series™ systems ourselves. We specified the materials. Our own crews install them. When you call us for warranty service, you're calling the company that designed, sold, and built your system — not a middleman pointing fingers.
Three Warranty Coverages
What's Covered, For How Long
Interior Waterproofing
FootingShield™ · Sump systems · Battery backup
Lifetime warranty on interior drainage systems, including the FootingShield™ drain tile, sump pump system, battery backup, and discharge line. For as long as your home stands.
- Drain tile installation and function
- Sump pump operation and replacement
- Battery backup system
- Concrete slab restoration
- Transferable to subsequent owners
Exterior Waterproofing
WallShield™ · GradingShield™ · Excavation
25-year written warranty on exterior wall membrane (WallShield™), perimeter drainage (GradingShield™), and grading. Functionally lifetime if the membrane remains undisturbed.
- WallShield™ 2-layer membrane system
- Exterior perimeter drainage
- Backfill and grading work
- Soil reinstatement
- Transferable to subsequent owners
Crack Injection (CrackShield™)
Polyurethane pressure injection
25-year written warranty on polyurethane pressure injection of concrete foundation wall cracks. Unlike epoxy (which cracks again when foundations flex), polyurethane expands and contracts with movement.
- Polyurethane injection at all packers
- Full crack depth coverage
- Cosmetic mortar patch
- Re-injection if leak recurs
- Transferable to subsequent owners
Our Philosophy
Paper Is the Floor — Not the Ceiling
A warranty is a written commitment. It's a minimum standard — the floor of what we'll do. It's not the ceiling.
"If something we built isn't working the way we said it would, we'll come back and make it right. The paper just describes how long that promise lasts."
That's why our exterior warranty says 25 years on paper but is functionally lifetime. If you call us in year 27 with an issue caused by the WallShield™ membrane we installed — and that membrane hasn't been disturbed by other work — we're not going to hide behind a date on a piece of paper.
Why this matters in the DMV market
The waterproofing industry has a reputation for warranties that look generous on paper but disappear in practice. Companies fold, change names, get acquired, or simply stop returning calls. Our warranty is meaningful because DMV Waterproofing has been operating in the same Rockville office since 2005, with the same founders, the same standards, and the same phone number.
The warranty is only as good as the company behind it. Twenty years is a long time. Four branches with full-time crews is a real footprint. That's what makes a warranty something you can actually count on.
Coverage Details
What's In, What's Out
What's Covered
- System performance — water infiltration through the area we waterproofed
- Sump pump function — replacement if it fails, including battery backup
- Drain tile clogging — flush, re-bed, or replace as needed
- WallShield™ membrane integrity — re-application if delaminated or compromised
- Crack re-injection — if the crack we sealed leaks again
- Concrete slab work — cracks or settlement caused by our installation
- Transferable — coverage passes to subsequent homeowners
What's Not Covered
- Water from un-treated areas — sections of the home we did not work on
- Plumbing leaks — interior plumbing, appliances, or fixtures
- Window well issues — unless we installed and warrantied the well
- Power outages — battery backup mitigates but doesn't eliminate
- Acts of God — flooding above grade, hurricanes, structural collapse
- Owner modifications — damage caused by later work that disturbs our systems
- Unrelated foundation settlement — pre-existing structural issues
