Engineer-Founded. No Subcontractors. Since 2005.
Two civil engineering classmates. One shared vision. Over 20 years inspecting foundations and waterproofing systems across Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.
We built our careers studying DMV soil conditions, groundwater behavior, and foundation systems from the ground up — literally. DMV Waterproofing is the result of two engineers who decided it was time to do this work on their own terms, for their community.
Our Story
Built on 20 Years of Field Experience
DMV Waterproofing was built on over two decades of real field experience — not a business plan.
Two civil engineering classmates graduated from the University of the District of Columbia and began their careers in 2005 at ECS Mid-Atlantic's Chantilly office, working as waterproofing and foundation inspectors across Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.
For years, they inspected hundreds of foundations, studied DMV soil conditions, traced groundwater paths, and diagnosed water problems that other contractors had missed or misdiagnosed. They learned not just how to fix basements — but why they fail in the first place.
That knowledge doesn't come from a classroom or a franchise manual. It comes from being on the ground, in the crawl spaces, and behind the walls of DMV homes for over twenty years.
"When we decided to start DMV Waterproofing, the goal was simple — build a company that does the work the right way. With our own crews, our own materials, and our own standards. No shortcuts. No subcontractors. No commission-driven sales reps telling homeowners they need work they don't."
Today, DMV Waterproofing runs four local branches — Rockville (main office), Kensington, Ashburn, and Manassas — with six in-house crews and three project managers. Every single one of them works exclusively for DMV Waterproofing. No subcontractors, ever.
How We Work
An Honest Inspection — Not a Sales Visit
Every project starts the same way. We diagnose the problem first, then recommend the solution that actually fits your home.
Step 1
Diagnose Before Recommending
We don't sell a product — we identify the real water source, soil pressure, and foundation behavior at your specific home.
Step 2
Evaluate Before Installing
Our engineers assess soil conditions, drainage patterns, water table, and existing foundation construction — every system is custom-designed.
Step 3
Engineer Before Selling
No commission-driven upselling. No franchise scripts. We tell you what your home actually needs — and what it doesn't.
Our Team
In-House Only. Engineer-Led. DMV-Local.

What We Stand For
Four Promises That Shape Every Job
Engineer-First Diagnosis
Our founders are civil engineers, not salespeople. Every inspection is an honest evaluation by someone trained to understand foundations — not push a product. If you don't need work, we'll tell you.
No Subcontractors — Ever
Every person who works on your home is a full-time DMV Waterproofing employee. We don't subcontract any part of any job. This is non-negotiable — it's how we've operated since 2005.
Transparent Pricing
No bait-and-switch quotes. No surprise charges. Free written estimates with itemized costs, financing options (0% APR through Wisetack), and zero pressure to sign on-site.
Lifetime Warranty
Every waterproofing system and foundation repair we install is backed by a written lifetime warranty — for as long as your home stands. We stand behind our work, on paper.
Our Promise
Water Problems Don't Wait. Neither Should You.
They don't fix themselves — they only get more expensive over time. Cracks widen. Mold spreads. Soil saturates further. The longer you wait, the bigger the bill.
Call us today for a free, no-obligation inspection. An engineer-trained inspector will visit your home, identify the real cause, and give you an honest assessment. No pressure. No sales tactics. Just an evaluation from people who have been doing this since 2005.
