Our Promise · Since 2005

Every Worker. Our Worker.

We don't sub out excavation. We don't sub out drainage. We don't sub out concrete work. Every person who touches your home is a full-time DMV Waterproofing employee — and they have been since 2005.

The Promise

One Rule That Has Never Changed

"Every single person who works on your home — from the inspector to the excavator to the concrete finisher — is a full-time DMV Waterproofing employee. Never a subcontractor. Never an outside crew. Never."

This is the single most important rule in our company. It's been in place since the day we opened in 2005, and it has never been bent — not for a busy season, not for a large project, not for a holiday rush. Not once in twenty years.

Most waterproofing and foundation repair companies in the DMV use subcontractors for at least excavation, drainage installation, concrete work, or hauling. Some sub out everything except the sales call. We don't operate that way, and we never have.

Why It Matters

What Goes Wrong With Subcontractors

Subcontracting is the contracting industry's quiet secret. Here's what it actually means for the homeowner.

No Accountability Chain

When something goes wrong with a sub-installed system, the company you hired blames the subcontractor. The subcontractor blames the conditions. You're left chasing two phone numbers instead of one.

Inconsistent Quality

Subcontractors rotate between three or four companies at once. They learn whatever shortcut gets them paid fastest. Standards drop because no one trains them, supervises them, or warranties their work.

No Loyalty to Your Home

A subcontractor finishes your job and moves to the next one — likely for a different company. They have no reason to come back if there's a callback issue.

Warranty Gaps

Most subcontractor warranties expire in 30 to 90 days. The labor — the part most likely to fail — was performed by a third party they don't control. Warranties become paper tigers.

How We Do It Differently

The In-House Model

We operate on what most of our competitors consider an old-fashioned model: we hire, train, and retain our own crews. Full time. With benefits. With consistent paychecks during slow seasons.

Today we operate six in-house crews across four branches — Rockville, Kensington, Ashburn, and Manassas. Each crew is led by an experienced foreman. Each foreman reports to one of three project managers. Each project manager works directly with an engineer-trained inspector.

The chain stays under our roof

Engineer-trained inspector → Project manager → Foreman → Crew member. Every link is a DMV Waterproofing employee. No subs anywhere in the chain.

This costs us more. Full-time employees mean payroll, insurance, training, equipment, and warehouse space — all of which a sub-driven company can dodge. We carry those costs because the alternative is the kind of quality problems we built this company to solve.

"If we have to use a subcontractor to take a job, we don't take the job. That's the rule. Always has been."

When you hire us, you're hiring DMV Waterproofing — not DMV Waterproofing and three subcontractors you've never heard of. One company, one chain of command, one warranty, one phone number.

The Difference You'll Notice

What This Means on Your Job Site

Same Crew, Start to Finish

The crew that begins on day one is the same crew that finishes on day three or five. No handoffs between subs.

Uniformed, Identifiable Workers

Every person on your property wears DMV Waterproofing branded gear and drives a marked vehicle. No unmarked vans.

One Number for Everything

Inspection question, scheduling change, mid-job concern, warranty callback — one number, one team, one accountability chain.

Real Warranty Coverage

Our lifetime warranty is backed by the same crews we trained and the same materials we specified. Callback service is handled by our team.

Trained on Our Systems

Our crews are trained on Shield Series™ installation specifically. Subcontractors learn generic methods; our crews learn our methods.

Consistent Across All Branches

Whether your inspector dispatches from Rockville, Kensington, Ashburn, or Manassas, the standards and people are all DMV Waterproofing.

Free Inspection

Meet Our Crews. See the Difference.

Schedule a free inspection and you'll meet a DMV Waterproofing employee — not a commission-driven sales rep, not a subcontractor's inspector. An engineer-trained team member who diagnoses your home honestly.
